EBC's New Nurse Aide Program: A Quick Route To A Rewarding
Career
It's one of the fastest growing occupations in the nation today. Between now
and 2012, the need for nurse aides is expected to grow by as much as 35%, according
to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics. And now EBC has a program to help
individuals take advantage of that growing opportunity.
Through the new certificate program, students gain the knowledge
and skills to become nurse aides in just eight weeks of training.
Classroom instruction and lab work focus on the role and function
of a nurse aide, including communication, infection control, safety/emergency
measures, residents' rights, personal care and basic nursing skills.
Students then have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop the
skills they've learned through practical experience as nurse aide
trainees at area health care facilities.
Typical entry-level wages for nurse aide positions are $8 to $14
per hour. Students hired by longterm care facilities can be reimbursed
through Medicare for the cost of their tuition. EBC can assist students
with educational loan application. For more information about the
Nurse Aide Certificate Program, e-mail
us or call our Admissions Department at 814/456-7504.
