Medical Club Members Walk For A Good Cause
Members of EBC’s Medical Club participated in the American Cancer Society’s “Making
Strides Against Breast Cancer” fundraising walk held in October. The
group was led by Diane Nagel and Terri Toth. With a matching contribution from
EBC, the club raised more than $250 for the cause. In addition to participating
in the walk, club members created an exhibit about breast cancer symptoms and
detection that was displayed in the EBC cafeteria.
Raising Awareness About A Common Problem
This fall, members of EBC’s Medical Club and Ms. Loosley’s
Psychology class joined efforts to raise awareness among EBC students,
faculty and staff about fetal alcohol syndrome. During the month
of September, students Corrine Griffin, Clair Staab, Diane Nagel,
Glenda Gunn and Nitza Otero made themselves available in the EBC
cafeteria to provide information and answer questions about this
common health problem. They also created an educational poster that
remained in the cafeteria throughout the month.
