Scholarships





CHARLES P. MCGEARY SCHOLARSHIPS
Charles P. McGeary Scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants pursuing associate degrees at Erie Business Center. Awards are based on applicants meeting EBC's standard entrance requirements. Additionally, each applicant must submit an essay of 300 to 500 words on one of the following topics: (1) What motivates me Explain and give examples. (2) Are you a leader and/or a follower? Explain and give examples. Applications are reviewed by members of the EBC administrative team, and scholarships are awarded in the amount of $5,000 each. Deadlines for applications are: December 1 for the Winter term, April 1 for the Sprint term and August 1 for the fall term.

ERIE BUSINESS CENTER SCHOLARSHIP - ½ TUITION
EBC awards two scholarships each year to high school seniors based on academic ability, involvement in extracurricular activities and financial need. These scholarships are awarded in amounts up to $10,000, depending on whether a student is pursuing an associate in specialized business (ASB) degree or shorter-term diploma program.

GOODWINE SCHOLARSHIP
The Goodwine Scholarship is a local fund administered by the Erie Community Foundation. Through this fund, EBC is able to award up to five scholarships every year in amounts up to $5,000 each, depending on whether the student is pursuing an ASB degree or shorter-term diploma program. Selection is based on academic ability and financial need. To be considered, you must:
  • Meet EBC's standard entrance requirements for the requested program of study
  • Submit transcripts and an essay on "Why Education Is Important."
  • Participate in a personal interview with a member of the fund's selection committee

IMAGINE MILITARY AMERICA AWARD PROGRAM
This program, established by the Career College Foundation, makes scholarship funds available to military personnel pursuing postsecondary career education. Through the Imagine Military program, EBC is able to award up to five scholarships every year in amounts up to $5,000 each, depending on whether the student is pursuing an ASB degree or shorter-term diploma program. To be considered, you must:
  • Meet EBC's standard entrance requirements for the requested program of study.
  • Be an active duty member of the military in good standing or an honorably discharged veteran.

To apply, go to www.imagine-america.org and click on the link for Military Award Program. You will be asked to indicate a career college choice, in this case, Erie Business Center--Main, as well as a field of study.
